We can install concrete coatings in a number of areas within your home. Some of these areas include garages, basements, patios, and pool decks. Not only do we install these coatings in homes, but we also provide our services to commercial businesses, which can include dog kennels, factories, and salon floors.

Epoxy vs. Polyurea for Your Concrete Floors

When it comes to concrete floor coatings, there are two main types: polyurea and epoxy. Both have their own unique benefits that make them ideal for different types of projects. Here, we will go over the main differences between these two types of coatings so that you can make an informed decision about which one is right for your needs.

Polyurea is a newer type of coating that has many advantages over epoxy. First, it is much more flexible, which means it can withstand more wear and tear. It is also more resistant to chemicals, stains, and UV light. This makes it an excellent choice for areas that see a lot of traffic or are exposed to the elements.

Epoxy, on the other hand, is more durable and harder to damage. It is also more heat-resistant, making it a good choice for areas that might experience extreme temperatures. However, epoxy is not as chemically resistant as polyurea, so it might not be the best choice for areas that are exposed to harsh chemicals.

All flooring is not created equal! Over time, your old floors can become stained, cracked, and overall less pleasing to the eye. Here at PolyPro Concrete Coatings, we use high-quality coatings made of epoxy to ensure that your floors look beautiful for years!

Our concrete-coated floors:

  • Can withstand heavy foot traffic
  • Are resistant to spills including oil, and chemicals
  • Add insulation value
  • Protected from staining and fading
  • Resistant to slips and falls

The nature of the storm/inclement weather will determine if we can complete the installation on the scheduled date only if the project takes place on an exterior surface. It is more likely we will need to reschedule an installation date to ensure quality and proper installation. Garage floor installations will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

We’re glad you asked! Here’s a breakdown:

  • 12 Hours – to walk on
  • 24 Hours – to move heavy items
  • 48 Hours – to drive on

We employ a rigorous 6-step process. Our PolyPro coatings are 6x stronger than epoxy and we offer a 15 year warranty! Here’s our process:

  1. Preparation: Grind up your concrete floor using diamond-bland grinder for a smooth surface.
  2. Concrete Reconstruct: Apply a patented concrete mender filler to smooth cracks and level the surface.
  3. Apply Basecoat: Apply our polyurea basecoat, which is 6x stronger than epoxy!
  4. Hand-Apply Vinyl Chips: Next we spread small vinyl chips that provide a unique color & texture.
  5. Remove Excess Chips: We scrap away the loose chips which adds extra grip & slip resistance to the floor.
  6. Apply a Clear Coat: Apply a clear UV stable polyaspartic base, keeps floor from yellowing from the sun.

There are 4 layers in each concrete coating.

  1. Concrete
  2. Polyurea Basecoat
  3. Vinyl Chips
  4. Clear Topcoat
